Описание: Kitchens are a central feature in any home and this new book showcases everything that is new in well-designed kitchens. Featuring the latest finishes and materials, Kitchens demonstrates how pivotal the kitchen has become. Many of the kitchens included in this book are sleek and minimal. Others are slightly eclectic, with both new and recycled materials cleverly interwoven. Many of the homes that are featured have two kitchens, one that can be used for preparation, the other used as 'front of house'.
Making the Most of Small Spaces

Описание: With a move to smaller and more flexible living spaces, architects and designers are pushing the parameters of available space. For example, in a bed-sit the lounge might become the bedroom at night, with the kitchen taking shape only when the need arises. This book visits a number of extraordinary homes, from apartments to townhouses. It is testament to the fact that what small spaces may lack in size, they certainly make up for through creative design ideas. It features everything from lofts nestled into warehouse spaces to townhouses hidden in laneways and the localities are often as intriguing as the spaces themselves. Text by Stephen Crafti, a well-known freelance writer who has been published extensively in magazines and newspapers both locally and internationally.

Описание: Architectural detailing makes every piece of architecture individual. Even Mies van der Röhe famously stated that 'God is in the details'. This book by Stephen Crafti, one of the world's most prolific architectural commentators, looks exclusively at architectural detailing for residential architecture. Details in a home can transform the building into something considerably more than just a house. An ideal guide for the homeowner, builder and architect. Whether it's a staircase, window treatment, the use of skylights, fireplaces or custom-made joinery, these details personalise space and create memorable architecture in the process. This book highlights many of these wonderful details.

Описание: Australian photographer Robyn Beeche discovered a new world when she went to London in the late 1970s. From catwalk shows to clubs, Beeche captured the leading designers and artists of the time, becoming an important photographer of the fashion world and working extensively with designers such as Zandra Rhodes, Vivienne Westwood, Bill Gibb and Mary Quant. Working with legendary make-up artists such as Richard Sharah and Phyllis Cohen, Beeche took fashion photography to a new level, creating surrealistic masterpieces. While the Blitz club was the place to be at the start of the 1980s, a few years later Beeche discovered the beauty of India, particularly the region of Vraj, which she visited on many occasions to document local festivals and culture. She moved to Vrindavan permanently in 1992. Through Beeche's superb photography, this book conveys the vibrancy of London and the richness of India, beautifully capturing the tapestry of life in both countries.
