Interchange Third Edition is a 4-level series for adult and young adult learners of English from the beginning to the high-intermediate level. The Interchange Third Edition/Passages Placement and Evaluation Package contains a placement test designed to help teachers determine which level of Interchange Third Edition or Passages is best suited to their students. The Placement Test consists of an Objective Placement Test (including a listening section), a Placement Conversation, and a Placement Essay. For users' convenience, there are three versions of the Objective Placement Test. The booklet also contains evaluation exams that assess students' mastery of materials introduced in the first and second halves of each book. For users' convenience, there are two versions of each evaluation test. Two audio CDs are included with the book.

It also contains midterm and final exams that assess students' mastery of materials introduced in New Interchange and mid-term and final exams that assess students' mastery of materials introduced in Passages. For users' convenience, there are three versions of the Objective Placement Test. A midterm and a final exam are provided for each level of New Interchange and Passages.
